Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to table 2008-Budget in parliament on November 07. This would be his third budget since he assumed presidency in 2005. The Appropriation Bill 2008 was tabled in parliament in the month of October. The parliament will begin the debate on the 2008 budget soon after President leaves after presenting it.

The Sri Lankan parliament is also to debate the extension motion on the State of Emergency for another month on November 6

The SL parliament is to resume its sitting Monday amid claims and counter claims by ruling party United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) and main opposition United National Party (UNP) that cross over from both parties on the day when the budget is put to final vote during the second week of December, sources said.
