SLA hands over 5 bodies in Vavuniya, Muslim man shot dead

Vavuniyaa Sri Lanka Army (SLA) handed over five bodies Sunday morning to Vavuniyaa General hospital claiming them to be Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) cadres, killed in an attack at Vavuniyaa SLA Front Defence Lines, sources in Vavuniya said.

Vavuniyaa district magistrate directed the police to make arrangements to hand over the bodies to LTTE through International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) Vavuniyaa.

The five bodies is expected to be taken to LTTE controlled territory Monday, sources in Vavuniyaa said.

Meanwhile, a Muslim person was shot killed in an attack in Cheddiku'lm area in Vavuniyaa district, Sunday.

No details of the attack is available now.

The victim is yet to be identified, Cheddiku'lam police said.
