Boy killed in Police shelling

A ten year old boy, Vivekanantharasa, was killed and two others were wounded when the Special Task Force (STF), of the Sri Lankan Police fired mortars from Paddiruppu bridge and Kaluthvalai in the east of the island, towards areas not under their control.
The wounded have been identified as M.Puhparanee, 37 and K.Sarawathy, 39. Meanwhile the Sri Lankan Police said that the Tigers hijacked a van around 9.45 a.m., as it was on its way from Akkaraipattu to Batticaloa. The Sri Lankan Police in Palai, in the Jaffna peninsula, handed over two bodies of youths to the Jaffna Hospital this afternoon around 12.30, said hospital sources. According to the police they were killed in a shoot out in Palai around 7.30 p.m. on November 27. The bodies have not been identified yet.
