Airstrike kills six civilians

Six civilians were killed and three wounded in an airstrike by the Sri Lankan Air Force (SLAF) Kfir jets at Chundikulam in the east of Vadamaradchi around 10.30 am today the Voice of Tigers (VoT) said in its night news bulletin.
The air attack, according to the radio, took place at Nallathannithoduvaai, a fishing village which connects the mainland and the Jaffna peninsula with a strip of land in Chundikulam area. Visvalingam Yogaraani (38, displaced from Uduthurai in Vadamaradchi), Yogachanthiran Mallikaadevi (36, displaced from Thaalayadi Thangaraasa), Siva (13, a student displaced from Thalayadi), Kamalanaathan Thanusha (15, a student displaced from Uduthurai), Raasalingam Suthaas (13, a student) and Velupillai Sellathurai (75) were killed in the air strike, the radio said. The wounded are: Kanapathipillai Subramaiam (48) Subramaniam Kengaarubi (16, a student) and K.Sothimalar (38).
