EU condemns Maheswaran assassination

European Union, in a press release issued today condemned "unreservedly the assassination of Sri Lankan Parliamentarian Honourable Thyagarajh MAHESWARAN," and said it expects the "culprits to be arrested and taken to justice immediately." EU added in the release that it noted with "dismay the increasing level of violence which has marked the beginning of the year 2008 in Sri Lanka."

EUROPEAN UNION EXPRESSES DISMAY AT THE ESCALATING VIOLENCE IN SRI LANKA


The European Union in Sri Lanka condemns unreservedly the assassination of Sri Lankan Parliamentarian Honourable Thyagarajh MAHESWARAN.

We expect the culprits to be arrested and taken to justice immediately.

The EU notes with dismay the increasing level of violence which has marked the beginning of the year 2008 in Sri Lanka.
