3 Tamil youths abducted in Trincomalee

Three Tamil youths were abducted by unidentified men in three separate incidents in Thampalakaamam, Kanthalaay and Thirukadaloor in Trincomalee district Wednesday night, according to complaints lodged with the police and the Trincomalee regional office of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) by their relatives.
Amirthalingam Mathan was abducted from his house in Kanthalaai by persons who came in a vehicle. Thangavadivel Muneenthiran of Thampalakaamam was abducted by unidentified men when he was returning home in his motorbike. The third person, Sritharan Wijesri, was abducted by unidentified persons from his house in Thirukadaloor, according to complaints. Meanwhile, the HRCSL sources said that complaints have been lodged regarding the abduction of fourteen persons including two women in Trincomalee district from May 10 to May 14. Police spokesman M.K.Ilankakone said in Colombo that police in Trincomalee district have begun inquiries into all received complaints of abductions.
