Tamil youth reported missing in Vavuniyaa

27 year old Alagiah Muthulingam, a father of two children, who left Puthukkuddiyiruppu in Mullaiththeevu district on May 12 to meet relatives in Vavuniyaa is reported missing, according to complaints lodged by his wife with the Vavuniyaa Police and the regional office of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka Friday, reports from Vavuniyaa said.

Muthulingam left for Vavuniyaa with Rs 13,000/= and had been seen at Omanthai army checkpoint by his friends. Omanthai army check point had entered his name in the register certifying his traveling to Vavuniyaa.

But the victim had failed to reach his destination in Vavuniyaa till Thursday, according to complaints by his wife.

He was earlier a resident of Jaffna and later displaced to Mullaiththeevu district and had been living in Pudukuddiruppu.
