Missing fisherman found in Trincomalee

Sellar Kandasamy (35), father of two children and one of the two fishermen who went missing last Thursday (7), in seas off Kallappaadu in Mullaithivu district was found at the Kutchaveli coast in Trincomalee district on Thursday evening, sources in Trincomalee said.
He said that he and his colleague had escaped an attack by the Sri Lankan Navy (SLN) on his fishing boat by swimming and finding something to hang on to. He was then washed away by the tide to the sea off Kutchaveli where he was found by the SLN and subjected to inquiries. Later he was handed over to the Police in the area. The Police admitted him to the Trincomalee hospital for treatment today. Hospital sources said that he is being treated for assault injuries. Kandasamy has said that he does not know what had happened to his colleague T.Selvendran. The two fishermen went missing when the SLN attacked them with mortars while they were fishing in the seas off Kallapaadu in the Mullaithivu district in the early hours of last Thursday morning.
