2 Tamils abducted in Colombo

Two Tamil civilians were abducted by unidentified armed groups on Friday night in two separate incidents in Colombo police division, according to complaints lodged with the police by their wives Monday, human rights sources said.

49-year-old disabled person, Christhotharan Francis was abducted from his residence located along Jayanthi Mawatte in Wattala-Hunupity junction on Friday night around 9:30 p.m. A complaint in this regard was made to the Kiribathgoda police station by his wife Monday.

33-year-old Selvarasa Balakumar was abducted from his residence located along Puththu Chetty Street in Colombo on Friday early morning around 2:30 a.m. by unidentified armed persons in police uniform, according to his wife in a complaint to the Puththu Chetty Police station.
