Unidentified persons hurled a hand grenade Monday around 9:15 p.m on the house of a Muslim trader in Oaddamaavadi area in Vaazhaichcheanai police division in Batticaloa district. Though the occupants were not hurt, the front portion of the house was slightly damaged in the attack, sources in Vaazhaichcheanai said.
The Muslim trader is Mohamed Aliyar Mohamed Rafeek, 35, a resident of M. P. C. S. Road, Ward No. 4, Meeraavoadai, Oadamaavadi in Vaazhaichcheanai.
