A Tamil youth from Alvaay area in Vadamaradchi had gone missing in Ve’l’lavaaya area in Monaraagala district 21 August, according to a complaint lodged by his parents to Human Rights Commission (HRC) Jaffna Friday. He was last seen after sending money to his parents from the bank in Ve’l’lavaaya, where he had been employed in the shop of his relative, the parents said in their complaint to HRC.

The youth gone missing is Sivgnanam Parthipan, 26.

Parthipan had forgotten to carry his National Identity card (NIC), when he left to the bank from his relative’s shop on the day he went missing.

Parthipan’s relative, on finding that he had not taken his NIC with him when he went to the bank, immediately handed it over to Ve’l’lavaaya police

However, there is no information as to what happened to Parthipan, his family members said.
