5 civilians wounded in SLA shelling in Ki'linochchi

5 civilians were injured Sunday morning when Sri Lanka Army fired artillery shells targeted houses near A9 road between 155 Mile Post and Ira'naimadu junction, according to initial reports. A 19-year-old youth lost his two hands and another youth his leg.
The civilians were engaged in dismantling houses to be relocated away from the area. The youth who lost his two hands was identified as E. Rajithkumar, from Tharmapuram. T. Kantharooban, 21, lost his leg. The others wounded were V. Sathees, 25, an IDP from Kaarainakar islet off Jaffna displaced to Vaddakkachchi and engaged in assisting the families who were dismantling their houses and 30-year-old A. Jegan, a father of four.25-year-old Kumar from Vaddakkachchi, Maayavanoor sustained minor injuries.
