Karuna group shoots dead 2 Tamil youths in Ampaa'rai

Karuna group men shot and killed two Tamil youths Thursday evening in Akkaraipattu police division in Ampaa'rai district and abducted another person. Akkaraipattu police claimed that the two youths killed were members of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Meanwhile, Akkaraipattu police arrested the wife of one of the youths killed.

The victims killed were identified as Balakrishnan Vijayaraj alias Arjun, 30, the father of a child and a resident of 2nd Kurichchi in Ka'n'nakipuram and R. Anpumani, 22, of Aalayadiveampu.

Vijayaraj's wife Visithira was arrested by Akkaraipattu police.

The name of the person abducted by the killers is not known.

The bodies of the two youths killed were taken away from the site of the killing immediately by Karuna group men, Akkaraipattu police sources said.

Police claimed that they had recovered few T56 slugs in the search conducted following the killings.
