Jaffna mine attack wounds two

Two Sri Lankan Army (SLA) soldiers were seriously wounded in a claymore mine attack by the Liberation Tigers this afternoon near the Third Junction on the road from Punnailaikkadduwan to Puthur in the Jaffna peninsula.

The military vehicle in which they were traveling was damaged in the claymore blast said Police sources in Jaffna.

The Tigers who carried out the attack had withdrawn from the area before troops could cordorn off the area they said.

The army serached the area this afternoon. It is not known whether anyone was arrested.
