Suduwella UNP Chief Organizer abducted, later found detained by TID

Kithsri Rajapakse, Chief Organizer for the main opposition United
National Party (UNP) of the Suduwella Electorate was reported to have
been abducted by a group of unidentified persons Wednesday evening.
Later in the night Police media spokesman DIG Nimal Mediwaka told
media that he had been detained by the Terrorist Investigation
Department (TID) of the police for questioning.
The Special Task Force (STF) arrested Mr. Rajapakse for being involved
in organized crime in the Suduwella area at around 5:00 p.m Wednesday. However, some eye witnesses at the scene including Rajapakse’s wife
said that an unidentified group, with their faces covered, raided Mr.
Rajapakse’s office and took him by force against his consent.
