ITAK begins election campaign in Trincomalee

The Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchchi (ITAK) Sunday evening inaugurated its election campaign in Trincomalee district in support of its candidates led by its President and former Member of Parliament R.Sampanthan. Mr. Sampanthan with other candidates S.Mathialagan, K.Selvarajah, (Trincomalee Urban Council Vice Chairman), K.Nageswaran, K.Thiruchelvam and M.Neminathan participated in the election rally. Former Member of Parliamentarian K.Thurairetnasingham presided over the rally held at Sivan Koayil Veethi.

At the commencement they participated in Pooja held in Trincomalee Katpakap-pillaiyaar Temple and Trincomalee Sivan Koayil. Thereafter they were taken in procession to the venue along Thirugnanasampanthar Street. Former MP Thurairatnasingam garlanded the statue of ITAK founder leader S.J.V.Chelvanayagam before the commencement of the rally.

ITAK leader Sampanthan appealed to the people to rally round the ITAK in this crucial time to achieve its objective to find a lasting honorable political solution to the Tamil national question.
