Every sacrifice will be made - TELO

The conflict between PLOTE and TELO is not about tax, it is about power, said Mr Sri Kanthaa, ex MP for Jaffna district and TELO's Political Adviser yesterday, while addressing the gathering at the funeral of Kugan, a TELO senior member and the district military leader for Vavuniya, yesterday.

The meeting was chaired by Vino, a key member of the organisation.

"We are forced to decide whether we have to give top priority to the welfare of our community or to the welfare of the organisation. We have not fought back the PLOTE when they killed 3 of our key members three months ago because we thought that our community is more important than the organisation. But PLOTE has struck again to kill our two senior members and one of our supporters", he said.

Mr Sri Kanthaa said that even if TELO had to sacrifice many more members, it will not step back from its political path and every action will be taken to bring all concerned in the murders of Kugan and Thaas to the law.

Selvam A.Adaikalanathan, MP for Vanni district, M.K.Sivagilingam and representatives of EPRLF and UNP in the area also addressed the gathering.

The PLOTE, TELO and EPRLF are paramilitary groups that work with the Sri Lankan army in its operations against the LTTE.
