Special Task Force (STF) of the Sri Lanka Police has resumed its search operation in Ka'luvaagnchikkudi, a village located 20 km off south of Batticaloa.

The STF has also started to interrogate passengers at checkpoints.

Police officials, when questioned by the reporters, claimed that it was a preventive measure after a incident that took place on December 2 where unidentified persons robbed money from a person who came out from the Bank of Ceylon branch in the area.

The resumption of search operation has stirred tension and fear among the people that their free movement in the village since the end of the war is in danger.
