TNA challenges Pilliayan to resign, hold election to EPC

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Batticaloa District TNA Parliamentarian, Mr.C.Yogeswaran, addressing an election meeting in Kaaraitheivu, challenged the Chief Minister of the Eastern Provincial Council (EPC), Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, to dissolve the EPC and to stand for re-election to prove his popularity instead of criticizing the TNA, sources in Batticaloa said.
Chandrakanthan alias Pilliayan and Vinayagamoorthy Muralidharan alias Karuna are leading two Para military groups in the eastern province. Mr.Yogeswaran accused both leaders as "people who sell the birth rights of the community for money" for criticizing the TNA. TMVP led by Pilliayan is currently engaged in thrusting the Mahinda Chinthanaya among the Tamil people and to allow chauvinist elements to capture traditional homelands of the Tamil community, Yogeswaran said. "Tamil people are well aware of those close to the Colombo government and the TMVP agenda. Tamil people at no stage will bow down to the people who in past had abetted the government in killing Tamils and who are mere pawns in the hands of the Colombo government. "Tamil people had taught good lesson to the chauvinists in the Presidential election and parliamentary election. That’s why the Colombo government had invited TNA for talks," Yogeswaran further said.
