Roundup in Vavuniya town

About three hundred civilians in Vavuniya town area were rounded up and taken to the public grounds of the Vavuniya Urban Council this morning by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) for security checks, said sources.

People who gathered in the public ground were asked to queue up and walk by the front of an army vehicle before they were released.

Sources said that the spot check was conducted to identify and arrest LTTE infiltrators.
