Ronald Ramesh, an employee of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRC), who works as an office assistant in Vavuniya branch office, has been arrested last night by the Counter Subversive Unit (CSU) of Vavuniya Police, his relatives said.
He was arrested by the Police last night around 8pm at his residence in Vavuniya Urban Council Quarters in Mannar Road, they said. Tamil political sources in Vavuniya said that the CSU arrested him on the orders of the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) and that he has been sent to Colombo. Ronald Ramesh is the third person working at the SLRC Vavuniya branch to be arrested. Earlier, Nagamany Easwaranathan, a driver working for the SLRC, was arrested by the SLA in Vavuniya, and later on April 26th, Sivanathan Kishore, the Secretary of this branch and the north east Co-ordinator, was arrested by the army. Both are being detained by the TID in Colombo.
