SLA-LTTE clash in Vanni

Four Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers were killed and two wounded when the Liberation Tigers attacked the forward defence lines west of Mankulam, yesterday army sources said.

The 6 Liberation Tigers were killed when the troops retaliated the sources said.

The wounded SLA soldiers have been admitted at the Anuradhapura hospital the sources added.

Meanwhile, in another confrontation in the general area of Welioya two Liberation Tigers were killed SLA sources said.

They said the bodies would be handed over to the Tigers through the International Committee of the Red Cross.
