Striking doctors surrender to police

Thirteen members of the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) including its President, Secretary and Assistant Secretary on whom warrants of arrest were issued by the Colombo District Judge on Friday, surrendered to the Maradana Police this morning through their lawyers.

The police allowed them to go on personal bail of 200,000 rupees each, already ordered by the Colombo District Judge Mr.A.W.A.Salam on Friday, with the arrest warrant.

They gave an undertaking to the Police that they would appear in the Colombo District Court on July 6 as already directed by the judge.
