Genocidal military rapists harass Tamil female teachers at Muzhangkaavil

[TamilNet, Thursday, 18 February 2016, 21:19 GMT]
The occupying SL military soldiers, who have been earlier captured by the villagers while attempting to sexually abuse Tamil women, have this week gone amok on the ladies hostel of Muzhangkaavil MV School in Ki’linochchi district. The SL military is occupying 10 acres of lands near the school, where the Sinhala soldiers have been deployed in large numbers at the farms run by the military at close vicinity to the MV school and the primary school. The villagers rushed to help the teachers at the ladies hostel as they shouted for help when Sinhala soldiers were trying to break the door of the building Monday night. Despite repeated complaints, the SL military has not been withdrawn from the residential areas of Tamil villages in the district.

When the school administration complained to the SL Police, the SL military commanders were explaining that they would enforce disciplinary action and transfer the ‘trouble-making’ soldiers away from the camp. The SL commanders were giving excuses such as repairing the fence, which was destroyed by the intruding soldiers that night. However, nothing has taken place till Thursday, the teachers said.

The teachers are afraid to work at remote villages where the presence of SL military is threatening the resettled Eezham Tamils.

Similar episodes have also been reported recently at Keappaa-pulavu of Mullaiththeevu district, former TNA Parliamentarian Suresh Premachandran on Thursday.

The Colombo government has done nothing to address the alarming threat caused in the Tamil villages where the SL military deployment stands at an alarming rate, Mr Premachandran added.

Despite the repeated reports of genocidal abuses, the visiting foreign envoys, diplomats and UN officials, including the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, have been directly engaging with the SL military.

The powers involved in the geo-political exploitation of the island are grooming the genocidal Sinhala military as a ‘Lascarine’ force in the island.

Muzhangkaavil is located about 45 km west of Ki'linochchi town, along Poonakari-Mannaar road.

The SL military deployment is being silently consolidated at various places in Mannaar district.

The SL government is only talking of releasing a few hundred acres in Valikaamam North as a smokescreen hiding the focus of the real Sinhala militarisation in the North, Mr Premachandran said.
