Occupying SL military forged land documents with fake signatures: landowners

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 06 June 2018, 18:13 GMT]
Thirty of forty land-owners of 59 acres of lands along the Nanthik-kadal lagoon in Mullaiththeevu district have categorically refuted the claim being advanced by the occupying military of genocidal Sri Lanka that they had agreed in writing to accept alternative lands or money as compensation in return for the properties that have been seized by the occupying Sinhala military. The military has provided forged documents to P. Senthil Nathan, the additional secretary of the SL Resettlement Ministry.

The people of Keappaa-pulavu have been waging a continuous protest since 01 February 2017.

Only some of their isolated pockets have been released so far.

The SL Navy is stiff and reluctant to release the lands that are close to Nanthik-kadal lagoon and the farming areas that are fertile.

The occupying SL Navy has put up a Sinhala Establishment with a star-class hotel/resort, Buddhist temple inside the militarised zone.

As the pressure was mounting on SL military to release the lands, it demanded money from the SL Resettlement Ministry to find alternative areas for itself before releasing the lands.

But, now the SL Navy is trying to deceive the people again by forging documents, the landowners said.

Apart from the forged signatures from the 30 land-owners, there are also two signatures from people who are staying in Tamil Nadu, they said.
