ICRC hands over youth's body

The body of the youth who was killed when the Batticaloa SLFP organiser's house was attacked last night was taken to Karadiyan Aaru by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) around 3 p.m. to hand over to the Liberation Tigers, said sources.

Sources said the youth was killed when the grenade which he had tried to hurl through the window exploded accidentally.

An inquest was held this morning at the Batticaloa hospital by the Additional Magistrate Mr.K.Thadchanamoorthy.

Dr. Chandrapalan, the Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) conducted the post-mortem. He said the youth had sustained injuries in the chest region due to blast..

According to one of Mylvaganam's body guard about ten persons were in the attacking group.
