Two men shot dead

The bodies of two people alleged by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) to have been members of the Liberation Tigers were handed over to Vavuniya hospital on December 2 hospital sources said. The pair had been shot through the head, the sources said.
The two youths were identified by their relatives today, as Albert Alwin Nesam (52) of Parappukadanthan and Santhan Francis (23) of Kumananayakkarkulam in Mannar district. The relatives told the Police at the inquest that the two, who were displaced, had returned to check their houses and collect a few essential things for their displaced family members, and had subsequently gone missing. The SLA, who handed over to the hospital, has said that the dead were members of LTTE. The bodies are to be released to the relatives and arrangements are made to take them to Madhu for funerals, the sources said.
