Tigers name Iyakkachchi casualties

The Liberation Tigers announced in the Vanni today that 12 of its fighters were killed in the confrontations with the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) that took place on Thursday, in the general area of Iyakkachchi in the Jaffna peninsula where heavy fighting was reported.
They were named as: Major Kathiroli (Thanabalasingam Sujeeban of Kokkuthodvai)
Black Tiger Major Cheliyan (Mahendrarajah Balamruali of Jaffna)
Capt Thamilventhan or Ilaviliyan (Balasingam Vasanthan of Vavuniya)
Capt. Puratchi (Ramasamy Selvarasan of Mannar)
Lt.Paanan (Sannasi Nagarasa of Vaddakachchi )
Varahamoorhtiyan (Nagiah Jeevanathan of Batticaloa)
Vakarayan (Mylvaganam Selvanayagam of Jaffna)
Singatharan (Parasuraman Mayoorathan of Batticaloa)
Thillaikumar (Thjambirasa Perinbanayagam of Batticaloa)
Perinbam (Muthukumarsamy Mahasivanarayanan of Jaffna)
Kalaipulavan (Tharmalingam Varathan of Jaffna). The LTTE also announced that Lt. Anban (Thirunavukarasu Uhtaykumar of Trincomalee) was killed in a confrontation with the SLA at Ganesapuram in Muthur area in the Trincomalee district on 22 December and Vanathy (Manikarasa Thusanthini of Trincomalee) was killed on the same day in another confrontation at Muthur. Meanwhile, the Operational Head Quarters of the Sri Lankan Ministry of Defence said in a statement issued today that 6 Liberation Tigers were killed in two separate incidents in the Elephant Pass area yesterday.
