CID to study blast film

Colombo Chief Magistrate D.G.Kulatileke ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to review the video film relating to the bomb blast at the last election campaign meeting of the People's Alliance at the Town Hall at which 24 people were killed and several others, including the President were wounded.

The court made the directive at the Magisterial Inquiry into the deaths.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the twenty four persons were handed over to their relatives after a post -mortem examination by a team of doctors headed by Judicial Medical Officer Dr.L.B.I.D.de Alwis, said sources.

The court held that the deaths were as a result of the bomb blast.

The court also ordered the CID to hand over the video film to its custody after viewing it.
