The second stage of Jaffna's de-mining project, funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is expected to resume soon when Zimbabwean officials return from their vacations, said sources.

Twenty-eight officials and 8 sniffer dogs will take part in the programme which is expected to begin in the Thellipalai and Kopai areas of the peninsula.

The first group of the team will travel by ICRC-escorted boat from Trincomalee tomorrow.

The entire team is expected to be in Jaffna at the end of this month, sources said.
