The Voice of Tigers radio repeatedly urged civilians in Thenmaradchi division since Sunday to construct bunkers to protect themselves from heavy bombing by Sri Lanka Air Force jets. The radio said that four civilians were killed and eight were wounded when the Sri Lanka army yesterday shelled the Madduvil sector that was captured by the Liberation Tigers Saturday.
Civilians are being resettled in the areas captured by the Liberation Tigers in the southern sector of the Thenmaradchi division according to the VoT broadcast this noon. The radio said that four civilians were killed at Kallikaadu in Kaithady this morning when the SLA fired artillery on the village. The Tigers captured Kaithady on May 17. The SLA has been shelling the area heavily since then. Fifteen were killed in a home for the aged on Friday May 19 when it was hit by SLA shelling.
