EPDP files nominations

The EPDP filed nominations for six local government bodies this afternoon at the Jaffna Kachcheri. The group's mayoral candidate for the Jaffna municipality is Velummayilum Kuhendiran who is known as Jegan. He is the EPDP's Jaffna district organiser.

The other nomination lists are led by Kanakaratnam Manipallavarajah for the Nallur Pradeshiya Sabha, Daniel Rexien for the Delft Pradeshiya Sabha, Manikkaraja Ketheeswaran for the Velanai Pradeshiya Sabha, Nadarajah Mathanarajah for the Kayts Pradeshiya Sabha and Thambiththurai Sivakumar for the Waligamam north Pradeshiya Sabha.

Meanwhile, the EPDP released the list of chief candidates for the six local government bodies to which it will file nominations tomorrow.

The EPDP's chief candidates are Soosaimuththu Alexander for the Pachchilaippalli Pradeshiya Sabha, Nagarathinam Baskaran for the Waligamam east (Kopay-Atchuveli) Pradeshiya Sabha, Nallainathan Thirilokanathan for the Waligamam west (Sanganai) Pradeshiya Sabha, Mannikkarajah Selvarajah Thiyagarajah, Justice of Peace for Waligamam south (Uduvil) Pradeshiya Sabha and Somasundaram Varnakulasingham for the Waligamam southwest (Sandilippai) Pradeshiya Sabha.
