Claymore blast kills three

Two Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers and a driver were killed when the three-wheeler in which they were traveling was hit by a claymore mine blast at Muttur, south of Trincomalee Sunday morning, security sources said.
The soldiers were travelling from Allainagar SLA camp to Kallar. The driver of the three-wheeler was identified as Mohammed Jainas. The soldiers killed in the blast were identified as Lalitha Silva and Chandrasiri. In a separate incident in the Vavuniya district, a military trained policeman was wounded when the Liberation Tigers fired mortars at a sentry post at Poovarasankulam around 9.30 a.m. Sunday morning police sources said. The wounded police man was brought to Vavuniya hospital and later transported to military hospital in Anuradhapura the sources said.
