Four soldiers wounded in claymore blast

Four soldiers were wounded an army bus in which they were travelling was hit by a claymore mine at Sunkaankerny, about 30 km. north of Batticaloa, around 1.15 p.m. Wednesday said security sources in the eastern town.

The bus was in a convoy of vehicles transporting soldiers from Batticaloa to Polonaruwa.

Army sources said the claymore was fixed to a tree on the road side. The front portion of the bus was slightly damaged.

The wounded soldiers have been transported to the Polonaruwa hospital.
