SLA raids TELO camp

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers Tuesday raided the camp of the Tamil Eelam Liberation Organisation (TELO) at Muthliyakulam in the Cheddikulam area south-west of Vavuniya around 6 a.m. and arrested 13 persons, including 4 civilians said Mr. Selvam Adaikalanathan, MP and the leader of the organisation.

adaikkalanathan.jpgThe troops have also seized 2 magazines and 3 hand grenades and a few holsters which the organisation had received from the army, the Mr.Adaikalanathan said.

The MP said he did not know why the camp was raided.

The TELO is an ex-Tamil militant group that has been operating with the Sri Lanka army for more than ten years.Three members of the TELO were elected to Parliament in last week's elections.
