The PLOTE opened an election campaign office in Delft today, Police in Jaffna has called all the parties contesting the local polls in Jaffna for a meeting tomorrow and 16 persons arrived at Kurunagar in Jaffna.

The PLOTE opened an election campaign office in Delft today. The island had been considered a stronghold of the EPDP.

The PLOTE also opened an office in Velanai on the January 1.

The EPRLF is looking for a place in Kayts to open an office there say sources in Jaffna.

Jaffna Police to meet Tamil groups

Jaffna town Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anura Senanayaka has called all the parties contesting the local polls for a meeting tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the morning.

The groups have been told to gather at the Jaffna Police headquarters which is now located in what was formerly the Asok Hotel.

Sixteen persons arrived at Kurunagar

Sixteen persons who set out from Jeyapuram in the Pooneryn area by boat across the Jaffna lagoon arrived at Kurunagar, a suburb of Jaffna town today.

Eleven of these are from Nallur and the others from Kurunagar.
