The Liberation Tigers released 10 prisoners of war as a good will gesture towards strengthening the peace process with the United National Front government on Monday in the northern town of Kilinochchi.

The prisoners were released in the presence of the Association of Parents and Relatives of Service Men Missing in Action, a group that has been involved independently in building goodwill and lobbying for peace in the south. The organisation is led by a former Sri Lanka army soldier Mr. E. P Nanayakkara who was also present at the release of the POWs on Monday in Kilinochchi.
