Govt. special team to visit Killinochchi

A government special team headed by Peace Secretariat Secretary General and comprising top representatives of several development agencies is to visit Killinochchi on Monday to have extensive talks with the leadership of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.
The main aim of this visit is to ensure allocation of funds and implementing development works in the northeast province simultaneously with the ongoing peace talks, which are scheduled to begin on September 16, government sources said. Top officials of the National Development Bank, Janasaviya Development Corporation and a Japanese aid agency will accompany the Secretariat General of the Peace Secretariat Mr.Bernard Gunatilake to LTTE held Killinochchi. The proposed talks will be centered on allocation of funds for the implementation of development projects in the northeast province, sources said.
