EPDP camp stormed

The Liberation Tigers stormed an EPDP camp on the island of Punkuduthivu off Jaffna in the early hours today killing 7 EPDP cadres. The attack which started at 1 a.m in the morning went on until 5 a.m, said sources in Jaffna.

Latter one EPDP cadre was killed when a rescue operation was attempted in the morning.

Unconfirmed reports from Jaffna say 20 EPDP cadres are reported missing in the fighting.

The LTTE is said to have removed all the weapons from the EPDP camp.

The Sri Lankan Army is preparing to launch a big operation in the island.

The attack took place in an area called Madaththtaveli on the island.
