Schools in Kokilai, Nai Aru, Thaneer Ootu Muslim Vidyalayam, Mullaitivu Muslim Vidyalayam and Unnpilavu school have not been functioning for more than ten years, sources said.

Mullaitivu district which has a student population of 18,926 is required to have a teaching staff of 1176 teachers.
