Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Monday refused to vacate the office complex of the Nedunthivu Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) saying that the Pradeshya Sabha could function in a portion of the office complex, when a delegation of the Nedunthivu PS met the SLN officials and demanded the immediate and complete withdrawal of the SLN, sources said.
The SLN told the PS delegation that SLN camp will continue to function from
a section of the PS building, sources said. At present the Nedunthivu Pradeshiya Council is functioning in a private building paying rent as its own office complex is fully occupied by
the Sri Lanka Navy, sources said. The office complex of the Nedunthivu PS includes the administrative
block, library, market, shopping unit and the parking lot, sources said.
