The film was released in Jaffna in a ceremony held Saturday evening at Jaffna University Kailasapathy auditorium, sources said.

In Trincomalee Ms Kuyili handed over the first copy of the film to the mother of martyr Major Rajmohan of Sea Tigers.

Mr. Sanjay, Head of the Thooyavan Political Science College, hoisted the Thamileelam flag. Ms K.Selvakumary presided. LTTE activist Ms Isaipirya made the welcome speech.

Mr.Sanjay in his speech said "our cadres had filmed several battles while fighting with the enemy and more than fifteen of our cadres have died while filming the real battle. We will use the present peace environment to publicize the achievements and sacrifices of our cadres to the freedom struggle among the people of the province,” said Mr.Sanjay.

Mr.Sanjay said: “The government has not implemented several key issues mentioned in the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the government and the LTTE. Hence we could say this is not a period of peace but a period to achieve peace," Mr.Sanjay stressed.

“We should not allow the heroic achievements of our armed freedom struggle go unrecorded in the history of Tamils in the country. Every one should contribute to the project to record key events. Our Nitharsanam women film unit has produced the film “ Uppil Niraintha Uthirangal” which tells the true story of a woman cadre in the freedom struggle," said Mr.Ratha, head of the LTTE’s Film Unit in his speech.

Attorney-at-Law Mr.K.Sivapalan and Ms Ranee Sitharan also spoke.

In Jaffna the flame of sacrifice was lit by the father of martyr Sea Tiger Ms Shobana. The Thamileelam national flag was hoisted by the Ms Kalyani of LTTE Sea Tiger Political unit. The traditional lamp was lit Dr.Ms Manonmany Shanmugathas of Jaffna University and Ms Tharmini on behalf of students, sources said.

The Mr.Ilamparuthi, head of the Jaffna district political unit, delivered the keynote address. Lecturers of the Jaffna University Mr.S.Yogarasa and Ms Jeyaranjini spoke.

Head of the LTTE women wing Ms Thamilini said in her speech that this particular film has been produced based on the experiences of the fighting cadres in our freedom struggle. She added some South Indian film producers had taken few films based on Eelam armed struggle. However these films had maligned the true spirit of our freedom struggle.
