Mystery disappearance of five persons reported to HRC

A complaint was lodged Friday at the Jaffna regional office of the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission that five members of a family residing at Mylankadu in Chunnakam area are reported to have mysteriously disappeared
since June 27, HRC sources said.
According to the complaint made by relatives of the disappeared, the
victims, Praveenan Sulochana (18), her six-month-old daughter Praveenan
Hamshika, her sister Natkunasingham Vibushana (9), brother Natkunasingham
Vibushan (7) and Natkunasingham Vishnu (4) left home on June 27, saying that
they were going to see one of their relatives. Thereafter they did not
return home. When inquiries were made, it was revealed that they did not go to their
relative's home as said by them, HRC sources said Jaffna HRC office Friday made an appeal to members of the public to inform them if they have received any information regarding the disappearances of these six persons, civil sources said.
