Poet Puthuvai Ratnathurai, the head of the Thamileelam Cultural Department of the LTTE, Monday evening delivered his keynote address at an event to release a collection of poems “ Manamuruhi Vayalveliyil” written by a Jaffna born Tamil poet now living in Switzerland held at Valvettithurai Sithamabara College hall.

Mr. Ratnathurai, addressing a large gathering at the event, appealed to Tamils living abroad to come forward to fight against the international community if it attempts to impose a half-baked political solution on Sri Lankan Tamils.

The book-releasing event was held under the auspices of Thamileelam Cultural Department of the LTTE. The Principal of Sithamabara College, Mr.N.Ariyaratnam presided, sources said.

At the commencement, the head of the Sea Tigers Unit in Vadamarachchi north, Ms. Kalyani, hoisted the Thamileelam national flag. The father of an LTTE martyr, Mr.R.Thangeswararajah, lit the flame of sacrifice.

Mr. Ratnathurai further said in his keynote address that, “ the recent actions of the international community are causing concern to us. We are prepared to fight to achieve our goal.”

Vadamarachchi North Fisheries Co-operative Federation General Secretary, Mr.P.Suriyakumaran, made the welcome address. The Kudathanai Parish priest and Valvettithurai Muthumariamman Temple Priest blessed the occasion.

Mr.S.Thandapani Thesigar handed over the first copy of the book to the Kaddaiveli MPCS President, Mr K.Sithambarapillai. Appreciations were delivered by leading Tamil author Mr.Sembian Selvan and Dean of the Tamil department of the Jaffna University Dr.S.Sivalingarasa.
