Abducted Tamil businessman released after torture in Ki'linochchi

[TamilNet, Monday, 17 October 2016, 20:45 GMT]
36-year-old Krishnasamy Ratheesan, a Tamil businessman who was reported missing on 12 October in Ki'linochchi, returned home with internal injuries and symptoms of shock. Refusing to comment anything on who the culprits were and why they abducted him and subjected him to torture, the father of one chose to seek legal protection through the police in Ki'linochchi, sources in Ki'linochchi said. So-called white-van squads operated by the SL military intelligence were behind similar abductions in the past, especially during the times of Gotabhaya Rajapaksa as the ‘Defence Secretary’ of the occupying SL military. The latest abduction has raised alarms among the business community in the North-East.

Colombo reinvigorates genocidal Military Intelligence in North-East

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 17 August 2016, 22:17 GMT]
The Colombo regime, led by Maithiripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickramasinghe, has given fresh instructions to SL Military ‘State Intelligence Service’, which was formerly known as the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), to function as the sole ‘lead agency’ in the occupied country of Eezham Tamils. The latest instruction comes following renewed protests by uprooted Eezham Tamils demanding de-militarization and resettlement in recent weeks and the publicly announced mobilisation against the full-fledged Sinhala Buddhisiciation spearheaded by the Sinhala Army and Navy in the North-East. SL Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe's earlier plans of giving a ‘face lift’ to showcase that the SL Police was now in charge of the ‘security intelligence’ in the North-East, has now been scrapped and the SIS is again given full charge of keeping Eezham Tamils subordinated to Sinhala military domination.

Eezham Tamils in Mullaiththeevu protest against expansion of ‘SLNS Gotabhaya’

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 03 August 2016, 16:54 GMT]
0The people of Mullaiththeevu on Wednesday confronted SL Survey Department officials who were trying to seize 617 acres of lands at Vadduvaakal, where the final onslaught took place in May 2009. The area has been seized by the SL Navy for the so-called ‘Regional Security Centre’, monitoring the coastal belt of Mullaiththeevu towards the Bay of Bengal. The lands that belong to private owners have been illegally occupied since 2009 and there are crucial evidences still intact in the area, the people say. The SL Department officials had informed the owners in advance that their lands were to be surveyed for three days starting from Wednesday. The protesting land-owners were accompanied by TNA and TNPF politicians. The protest comes also after SL Deputy Defence Secretary recently visited the area in an attempt to convince the land-owners to accept alternative lands elsewhere.

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 21 June 2016, 15:47 GMT]
A supervisor rank worker associated with demining work carried out by Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (FSD) and was deployed in clearing Unexploded ordnance (UXO) between 2010 and 2014 in Puthukkudiyiruppu (PTK) where SL military deployed cluster bombs and chemical weapons during the genocidal onslaught in 2009, told TamilNet this week that the hierarchy of the FSD, when alerted about the traces of cluster bombs and crucial human skeletal remains indicating deployment of chemical warheads, communicated the matter to the SL military under Gotabhaya Rajapaksa's military establishment, which was quick to remove the traces. If the workers revealed the findings, the FSD would lose its project and they would risk losing their jobs as funds coming from USA, Japan and EU would go to other mine clearing agencies, the workers were told by the FSD hierarchy.

Sri Lanka used cluster bombs against Tamils, says Guardian

[TamilNet, Monday, 20 June 2016, 22:42 GMT]
New photographic evidence leaked by an employee of a large demining organization, Halo Trust, and independently corroborated by Human Rights Watch that the material pictured as the "remnants of Russian-made cluster bombs and unexploded cluster submunitions, emerged as the 32nd sessions of the UN Human Rights Council opened last week, said UK Guardian in an exclusive story Monday. The photographs depict cluster bombs uncovered within Sri Lanka Government declared "no fire zones" where Tamil civilians were asked to gather for their safety during the final stages of the war, the paper said. Reports produced by the UN and several rights groups have found that war crimes and crimes against humanity may have been committed by the Sri Lankan forces, but so far no senior member of the Government or the armed forces has been held accountable, the paper added.

Systematic enforced disappearances, an international crime, says Boyle

[TamilNet, Monday, 14 December 2015, 23:21 GMT]
Noting the re-emerging threat of white van abductions and enforced disappearances in the historic homeland, the NorthEast, of Eezham Tamils, Professor Francis Boyle, an expert in international law, said that systematic enforced disappearances is a crime against humanity under the Rome Statute, and in Sri Lanka this criminality of the Government of Sri Lanka is "an indicium of genocide against the Eelam Tamils." Boyle noted, as evidence of his concern, the recent incident in Jaffna where Colombo's military intelligence operatives threatened the editors of a local newspaper that they would have to face the "white van" if the paper failed to retract a published story on missing persons.

Occupying military of genocidal Sri Lanka silently grabs more lands in North

[TamilNet, Thursday, 15 October 2015, 06:56 GMT]
0After securing secret deals with the major powers on the continuation of the occupying Sri Lanka Army as the lascarine force needed to maintain the artificial unity of the island coupled with the external ambitions of global domination, the new regime of the genocidal State in Colombo has encouraged its Gajaba Regiment to permanently seize more lands in the strategic enclave of Poonakari (Pooneryn), which is situated at the entrance to Jaffna Peninsula facing the Palk Bay. Similar occupation is also reported in Ki'laali, the former defence line situated on the other entry route to Jaffna through Vanni mainland. Chequered Swiss history of supporting Sri Lanka's crimes

[TamilNet, Sunday, 20 September 2015, 22:02 GMT]
0Switzerland, besides U.S., U.K, and India, has played a key role in providing diplomatic sanctuary for Sri Lanka in international fora against censure for alleged criminal conduct against Tamils. The most strident display was when the Swiss sponsored a UN resolution calling "upon the Government of Sri Lanka to investigate and prosecute itself for war crimes and crimes against humanity," as the State killed tens of thousands of Tamil civilians in the final phases of 2009 war. This paved the way for the international community to whitewash a possible genocide. This practice continues to this day as Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and Swiss Peace [NGO] participate this week in a meeting organized by an NGO outfit to soften the Tamil call for international investigations on Sri Lanka genocide.

Competition mounts in engineering genocidal Sri Lanka

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 25 August 2015, 16:07 GMT]
South Africa's Cyril Ramaphosa was on a secret mission to Colombo last weekend. Mr. Tony Blair, who was the British Prime Minister during the genocidal onslaught of Eezham Tamils was in the island on a two weeks tour since 11 August. US Assistant Secretary of State Nisha Biswal and another US official are in Colombo. The section of Sinhala Buddhist elements in the mission or payroll of protecting Rajapaksa, who openly took a China line earlier this year, connected the dots to depict IC conspiracy, by linking Ramaphosa to the ICG and to a CIA mission. In response, the South African Government on Tuesday announced that Mr Ramaphosa was no longer connected to the ICG. The hectic visits and the recent Indian media scurry in claiming hold on affairs as well as 'guidance' for domestic investigation, signal only mounting competition in stabilizing the genocidal State with new local partners.
