Outside forces abet genocidal Colombo, deceive uprooted Tamils in North

The Foreign Ministry and Resettlement Ministry of occupying Colombo are working together with a number of Colombo-based foreign ‘diplomats’ and ‘development’ conquistadors in silencing the opinion of uprooted Eezham Tamils languishing in 34 ‘welfare’ camps in the Jaffna peninsula, Tamil development workers in Jaffna say. The main agenda of outside funders is targeting on sustaining the UNP-SLFP regime of Maithiripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickramasinghe rather than adhering to their own principles and procedures of development assistance. In the meantime, representatives of uprooted people from Valikaamam North said public civil servants were being actively deployed by the SL State with the offer of finding ‘alternative lands’ abandoning their 25-year-old struggle of regaining their villages in Valikaamam North.

Poverty-stricken uprooted Tamils deceived to bribe SL military to become eligible for housing status

A Scandinavia-based media operative, who is a long-time collaborator of foreign intelligence Establishments and who has been working with the rulers of genocidal Sri Lanka against the freedom struggle of Eezham Tamils for decades, has now been deployed as a bribing agent, allegedly by the SL military commander in Jaffna Major, General Mahes Senanayake, in deceiving a number of poverty-stricken uprooted families from Valikaamam North to pay 50,000 rupees each to become ‘eligible’ as recipients of so-called ‘housing schemes’ being built by Colombo's Ministry of Resettlement and the occupying military. Between 60 to 80 families have already paid 50,000 rupees each through the media-operative, who has been deployed to trap the people to succumb to the designs of the genocidal military. Some sources put the number of families who succumbed to the trap as high as 200.

Colombo intensifies military surveillance on Eezham Tamils

The occupying military establishment of genocidal Sri Lanka has tightened its military intelligence grip on Eezham Tamils deploying various tactics within the last few days in Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Mullaiththeevu, Ki’linochchi, Jaffna and Mannaar, according to reports coming from all the corners of the occupied country of Eezham Tamils. Fresh deployments of so-called ‘Special Task Force’ commandos, a full-fledged combat military administratively coming under SL Police has been silently moved into several locations in the Jaffna peninsula ‘integrating’ SL military intelligence in a sophisticated manner. There are also fresh attempts to acquire lands for intelligence outfits being expanded in Jaffna. In the meantime, several new tactics are being deployed by the SL military intelligence in other parts of the Tamil homeland.

SL military dismantles houses, destroys traces before releasing lands

The occupying military of genocidal Sri Lanka is dismantling houses and bulldozing constructions within selected pockets of former High Security Zone lands in Valikaamam North before readying the places to be released for resettlement, uprooted Tamils from Maaviddapuram area in Jaffna told TamilNet on Thursday. The SL military is also preparing to construct another beach resort and hotel similar to the so-called Thal Sevena Army Resort at Kaang-keasan-thu'rai. The new resort is to be constructed along the coast of Mayiliddi, the sources said. Meanwhile, the Sinhala military establishment at Palaali is discouraging resettlement and is attempting to make the Tamil land-owners within the former HSZ area to purchase lands elsewhere.

Sinhala Buddhist vihara, SL militarization pose threat to resettlement at Valikaamam North

The occupying military of genocidal Sri Lanka has constructed Buddhist vihare at the site of a Saiva temple (Kumaara-koayil), which was located in the lands belonging to a popular Eezham Tamil female singer from Veemankaamam North GS Division in Valikaam North of Jaffna district. Uprooted Tamil families, along with some journalists in Jaffna, were able to access the area this week after 26 years. Despite the propaganda from SL President Maithiripala Sirisena that these lands were being released back to the people in Valikaamam North, the GS divisions still remains largely militarized, the journalists said providing visuals from the site. Sinhala police, SL ‘Terrorist’ Investigation Division and the ‘State Intelligence Service’ are occupying the lands that belong to more than 60 families at the locality surrounding the Buddhist temple, named ‘Gamunu Vihare’.

Maithiripala demonstrates ‘homegrown’ structural genocide in Jaffna

SL President Maithiripala Sirisena who visited Jaffna on a public relations campaign on Monday claimed that he was ‘releasing’ 454 acres of lands back to the uprooted people from Kaangkeasanthu'rai (KKS), Veeman-kaamam and Thaiyiddi villages in Valikaamam North. But, the propaganda drive have drawn severe criticism from the uprooted people as Major General Mahesh Senenayake, the SL military commander in Jaffna, also went on record stating that two large military camps would continue to remain within the area claimed by the SL President as being released. A large camp is situated in 70 acres of lands within KKS South (J-235) and another base is located within Thaiyiddi South (J-250) occupying 48 acres. The move is a tactic to make the people to sell off their lands, informed civil sources told TamilNet.

Colombo survyes lands for ‘Sinhala Military Zone’ in Valikaamam North

While the uprooted Tamils, demanding resettlement in their own villages in Valikaam North, are still denied access to their lands that are situated within the former ‘High Security Zone’ in Valikaamam North, 261 hectares of their lands are now being officially appropriated by the occupying genocidal Sri Lanka under the pretext of expanding the airport at Palaali. Thellippazhai Divisional Secretary has informed the people that their lands in three GS divisions are now being surveyed and appropriated according to an old Gazette notification of 25 November 1986. The SL Military ‘releasing’ selected pockets of lands, constructing deceptive housing schemes and the SL President Sirisena making ‘reconciliation’ PR stunts with the propaganda of resolving land issues, are all camouflage acts being deployed for the creation of a permanent Sinhala Military Zone in Jaffna.

SL President Maithiripala Sirisena is attempting to transfer uprooted Eezham Tamils from Valikaamam North who are currently residing in more than 30 camps into new ‘camps’ instead of resettling them in their own lands, said A Gunabalasingam, the president of Valikaamam North Rehabilitation Society. Condemning the Colombo government for latest deceptions through military-built slums and the plans to dump people into pockets of lands, Mr Gunabalasingam described the latest move as structural destruction as the schemes are separating and destroying the entire social and family structure of the uprooted villagers who have been awaiting to resettle in their own villages for decades.

Jaffna GA's letters cause anger among uprooted Tamils from Valikaamam North

Occupying Colombo's Defence Ministry has instructed the SL Government Agent in Jaffna, Mr N. Vethanayagan to issue three different letters to the uprooted families in Valikaamam North, who are staying in the so-called welfare camps in Jaffna. A section of the people have been asked to prepare to move out of their camps and to accept alternative housing-scheme [being built by the occupying military]. Around 70 of the families staying at Sabapathipillai camp in Chunnaakam have received a second-type of letter that states that in the event their lands were to be permanently seized for military use, they would be compensated with ‘suitable’ and ‘lucrative’ alternatives. A third one asks the remaining to stay calm and wait for resettlement until the end of 2017. The letters have caused confusion and anger among the uprooted people who have been staying in the camps for more than 25 years.

Colombo steps up deceptive preparations for Ban Ki-moon's ‘inspection’

Meanwhile, Tamil political prisoners in the prisons of genocidal Sri Lanka for more than 7 years have complained that Colombo was completely ignoring the release of Tamil Prisoners of War, especially those who have been detained since before May-2009.

Sinhala military personnel outnumbering the civilian recipients of the housing scheme were demonstrating how the people of Valikaamam North are going to be surrounded by the occupying military forever. While the occupying SL military has robbed more than 5,000 acres of fertile, residential lands in the Valikaamam North and the entire Mayiliddi coast with the most resource-rich sea beds in the North and evicted more than 50,000 people from their villages, the Sirisena blueprint now wants to create resettlement slums and make the people of Valikaamam North subordinate to Sinhala military.

Colombo schemes permanent slum housing for uprooted Tamils at limestone quarry lands

Colombo is converting the project, which started off as a 100-houses scheme into a larger five-phased housing scheme and by ‘marketing’ it as ‘reconciliation’ and ‘affordable’ housing scheme for uprooted people. The ulterior motive of the deceptive Keerimalai housing scheme is to weaken the demands coming from uprooted Tamils to release their military occupied fertile lands in Valikaamam North. The five-phased project is targeting to lump together the uprooted people into a 47-acre area.

Tamil student leaders in Jaffna condemn SL Governor Cooray’s remarks in Colombo

SL military deployed to rob material remains of houses in Valikaamam North ‘HSZ’

The occupying Sri Lanka Army has been systematically deployed in recent days to dismantle and rob roof tiles, wooden window and door frames off of the remaining houses that are situated inside the areas, which the uprooted people have been demanding the SL authorities to release for their resettlement in Valilkaamam North in Jaffna district. Journalists in Jaffna have managed this week to photograph stolen material temporarily stored within the military fenced-off area in Kurumpasiddi along Eezhakeasari Ponniah Road. In the meantime, Tamil journalists have also photographed some of the private properties situated within the military-seized deployed for military use to be in good condition. The President of Valikaamam North Rehabilitation Society Mr A Gunabalasingam, said he has received several complaints from the people who have seen the organised robbery by the SL military.

Colombo demonstrates military diktats over resettlement in Jaffna after Geneva ‘update’

A few uprooted Tamil women and the Additional Government Agent of Jaffna were asked to be present in the ‘inauguration’ ceremony of the military-conceived, SL government-funded housing scheme for 100 families at a limestone quarry land near Maavidda-puram. Colombo determined to maintain genocidal Military Intelligence structure in North-East

Ranil Wickramasinghe, the prime minister of genocidal Sri Lanka, has instructed the SL Military Intelligence in Colombo to maintain the structure and operations of the intelligence agencies deployed in North and East completely intact from the changes taking place in South, informed sources in Colombo told TamilNet on Friday. While enacting certain cosmetic changes in the Intelligence operations in the South, the structure conceived by former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, will operate without changes in the North-East, the sources further said. The decision is based on external advice coming from the US Establishment.

Veteran Eezham Tamil archivist passes away at 81

Mr R. Kanagaratnam (Kurumpasiddi Eraa Kanagaratnam), who tirelessly collected Tamil and English newspaper clippings and manuscripts related to political and cultural affairs of Eezham Tamils for almost 6 decades, has passed away at the age of 81 in Kandy on Wednesday. The leaders of Tamil Eelam and Tamil Nadu respected Mr Kanagaratnam for his contributions to the modern archival history of Eezham Tamils as well as his continued focus on the historiography of Tamils living across the larger region, from Fiji Islands to South Africa. His unique contribution to the nation of Eezham Tamils was collecting, archiving, microfilming and at the same time ensuring secure storage of the Tamil and English documents outside the island – all achieved through his focused and relentless efforts. He was an institution by himself.
