Colombo's desecration of Tamil Heroes Cemetery comes to light as SLA vacates Kanakapuram

[TamilNet, Monday, 12 September 2016, 07:12 GMT]
The occupying SL military destroyed Tamil War Heroes Cemetery (Maaveerar Thuyilum Illam) at Kanakapuram in Ki’linochchi in January 2009, desecrating the buried bodies of Tamil fighters in an inhumane manner and bulldozing all the tombstones. Hundreds of destroyed tombstones were used as stones for SL military driveways in the occupied Ki’linochchi. In 2013, as the people started to resettle, the elected Divisional Council of Karaichchi division resolved to transform the destroyed Heroes Cemetery into a park as the 10-acres land was originally a property of the civic body. Within a few days of the declaration, the SL military fenced off the lands to block the move and deployed the area for military use. Last week, the SL military finally vacated from the grounds and reporters were able to witness the extent of desecration and destruction caused by the SL military.

Uprooted people from Pa'l'li-munai secure interim order against SL Navy surveying lands

[TamilNet, Friday, 09 September 2016, 18:36 GMT]
Uprooted Tamil fisher families from Pa'l'li-munai in Mannaar city said they were encouraged by Mannaar District Judge Aseervatham Gracian Alex Raja, who categorically stated on Monday that the SL Survey Department should not be engaging in surveying the lands of the families while their cases were being heard by the courts. A special motion was moved on Monday at Mannaar District Court as Divisional Secretary Subramaniyam Vasanthakumar told the families last month that he would be forced to take police action if they continued to protest against the Survey Department officials. Two surveying attempts were thwarted by the protesters last month.

Sirisena's Mahaweli Ministry spearheads massive-scale Sinhala colonisation in Batticaloa

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 06 September 2016, 23:54 GMT]
System B of Mahaweli scheme targets demographic genocide of Eezham TamilsUnder Mahinda Rajapaksa’s regime, it was Colombo's SL Forest Department, engineering the demographic genocide of big-scale land grab of pasturelands and converting the pasturelands in Batticaloa into Sinhala colonies. But now, SL President Maithiripala Sirisena’s so-called Mahaweli ‘Development’ Ministry is spearheading the structural genocide against Eezham Tamil dairy farmers by stepping up the Sinhala colonisation in 2016 with more than 1,000 hectares of forest and pasture lands, deploying retired Sinhala military men, armed ‘home guards’ paramilitary, Sinhalese traders from the South, Buddhist monks and poor Sinhala daily-wage labourers, says the secretary of Dairy Farmers Association in Kiraan and Chengka'ladi, Mr Nimalan Kanthasamy, who was interviewed by TamilNet this week.

Maithiripala Sirisena acts like D.S. Senanayake in colonizing Tamil lands in East

[TamilNet, Sunday, 04 September 2016, 21:43 GMT]
Maithiripala Sirisena’s Forest Department has seized 600 hectares of residential lands in the only remaining Tamil division Thirukkoayil in Ampaa’rai district, Tamil civil officials from the Divisional Secretariat told TamilNet. Comparing the occupation scheme and the current structural genocide in Ampaa’rai to the 1957 so-called Gal Oya Colonisation Scheme, the Tamil officials said Colombo’s Forest Department officials have planted border stones surrounding residential lands of uprooted Eezham Tamils from Chaakamam, Thangka-vea’laayutha-puram and Kagnchi-kuddichchaa’ru GS divisions after the 2007-2009 genocidal onslaught. Although 700 Tamil families were fighting to resettle in their lands, their pleas went unheeded, the civil officials said. The occupying military and the Colombo-controlled administration have been blocking the people from resetting in their own lands after the war.

Systemic impossibility of Colombo's reconciliation exposed: Tamil political prisoners

[TamilNet, Friday, 02 September 2016, 06:28 GMT]
Colombo's Attorney General's Department is prolonging the detention of Tamil prisoners, who were detained by the SL Military Intelligence before 2010, Tamil political prisoners said this week. While proposing to release those detained after 2010, Colombo is insistent upon prolonging the detention of Tamil political prisoners detained for several years by transferring their cases to the so-called Special Court in Anuradhapura, which has only investigated 3 of the 18 cases of Tamil prisoners of war since its establishment. The same court has investigated hundreds of petty crimes, they said. Colombo insisting upon subjecting Eezham Tamils on ‘Terrorism’ charges while entertaining Sinhala genocidaires with State honour has amply demonstrated that Colombo is not prepared to face the future with necessary attitudinal change, they further said.

[TamilNet, Thursday, 01 September 2016, 05:41 GMT]
Two Bangladeshi workers in Singapore were jailed for two and two and a half years respectively, on terrorist financing charges, for contributing a petty 200 and 500 Singapore dollars to fund a terror campaign in Bangladesh to overthrow the government and set up a caliphate, according to AFP on Tuesday citing court documents of Singapore that has a law against terrorist financing. While the world should appreciate Singapore’s concerns about the wages it pays to expatriate individuals ending up in killing people in another country, who will have concern, conduct court proceedings and incarcerate the responsible in governments that contribute billions and billions to States like ‘Sri Lanka’, where the money ends up in genocide and structural genocide, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island.

CBK answerable for crimes committed under her regime: Ananthy Sasitharan

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 31 August 2016, 20:43 GMT]
0Executive Presidents of the SL State in the past and at the present are accountable and answerable for the crimes committed during their regimes, said Ananthy Sasitharan on Tuesday. She was targeting former SL President Chandrika Kumaratunga (CBK), who is now heading the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation (ONUR), as responsible, accountable and answerable for the crimes committed during her rule. “If the current and former presidents are serious about reconciliation, they should first stop calling the genocidal war a ‘humanitarian war’. They should officially recognize the Tamil struggle as a liberation struggle and those who participated in it as freedom fighters without any qualms or reluctance. We can only start reconciliation from a position that those who were made to disappear were not terrorists,” Ananthy has said vowing to step up the campaign for international justice.

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 30 August 2016, 23:04 GMT]
A white-van squad has abducted a 26-year-old Tamil man, who was formerly a member of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and released after the so-called ‘military rehabilitation’ on Tuesday while Eezham Tamils from all the districts in the Northern and Eastern Provinces took to the streets on the International Day of the Disappeared demanding international investigations against the genocidal State of Sri Lanka on the burning issue of thousands of forcible disappearances carried out by the occupying Sinhala military and its paramilitaries. The latest abduction in Ki'linochchi, believed to be the work of SL Military Intelligence, is the ‘military response’ to the destruction of Buddha statues in the early hours of the day, political activists in Ki'linochchi said.

Colombo steps up deceptive preparations for Ban Ki-moon's ‘inspection’

[TamilNet, Sunday, 28 August 2016, 21:59 GMT]
As UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is scheduled to visit the island on a three-day tour on Wednesday, Colombo government has engaged its ministers for deceptive preparations for Mr Moon to claim that ‘progress’ was being made by the SL State on the Human Rights front. In the meantime, the SL military intelligence has been given sweeping powers as the topmost agency for terror surveillance on Eezham Tamils. The occupying SL Army has also gained wide powers of spearheading the continued structural genocide by controlling the affairs of resettlement under the guise of Sinhala soldiers engaging in ‘reconciliation’ housing schemes. Meanwhile, Tamil political prisoners in the prisons of genocidal Sri Lanka for more than 7 years have complained that Colombo was completely ignoring the release of Tamil Prisoners of War, especially those who have been detained since before May-2009.

Sweeping the issue of ethnic assaults under carpet is not reconciliation: Peradeniya Tamil students

[TamilNet, Thursday, 25 August 2016, 20:18 GMT]
In an attempt to conceal the recent racial assault by a section of Sinhalese students on Tamil-speaking students at Peradeniya, the University Administration has said it has taken disciplinary action against the students who were involved in a clash on 22 August. Accordingly, 10 students were suspended for two weeks from attending their studies, the Administration has said. Responding, the Tamil-speaking students who were subjected to ethnic violence by the Sinhala students told TamilNet on Thursday that they didn't interpret the so-called disciplinary action as a proper response to ensure their future security. In the meantime, Reginald Cooray, Colombo's colonial governor to North has been once again exposed, this time by the Sinhalese students themselves, as a force escalating the conflict while the University Administration in Jaffna was trying to negotiate a peaceful resolution.

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 24 August 2016, 20:09 GMT]
Protesting the assault on Tamil-speaking students in ‘surrender position’ by Sinhalese students at Peradeniya University on Monday this week, 49 Tamil-speaking students attending the first year courses at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (AHS) have left the University premises on Wednesday and informed the administration that they will not be prepared to return until there is a proper guarantee extended to them by the SL State and the University administration. The University Administration was trying to convince that they would provide guarantees for the security of Tamil and Muslim students within the premises. However, Tamil-speaking students who have come from other provinces have raised questions on their freedom of movement and security in Peradeniya and Kandy.

Colombo schemes permanent slum housing for uprooted Tamils at limestone quarry lands

[TamilNet, Sunday, 21 August 2016, 23:37 GMT]
The occupying military of genocidal Sri Lanka in Jaffna is attempting to nullify the demand for resettlement coming from the uprooted people of Valikaamam North who are languishing at 32 camps, by projecting the construction of houses at limestone quarry lands in Keerimalai/Maaviddapuram as a ‘reconciliation initiative’. Colombo is converting the project, which started off as a 100-houses scheme into a larger five-phased housing scheme and by ‘marketing’ it as ‘reconciliation’ and ‘affordable’ housing scheme for uprooted people. The ulterior motive of the deceptive Keerimalai housing scheme is to weaken the demands coming from uprooted Tamils to release their military occupied fertile lands in Valikaamam North. The five-phased project is targeting to lump together the uprooted people into a 47-acre area.

Colombo reinvigorates genocidal Military Intelligence in North-East

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 17 August 2016, 22:17 GMT]
The Colombo regime, led by Maithiripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickramasinghe, has given fresh instructions to SL Military ‘State Intelligence Service’, which was formerly known as the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), to function as the sole ‘lead agency’ in the occupied country of Eezham Tamils. The latest instruction comes following renewed protests by uprooted Eezham Tamils demanding de-militarization and resettlement in recent weeks and the publicly announced mobilisation against the full-fledged Sinhala Buddhisiciation spearheaded by the Sinhala Army and Navy in the North-East. SL Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe's earlier plans of giving a ‘face lift’ to showcase that the SL Police was now in charge of the ‘security intelligence’ in the North-East, has now been scrapped and the SIS is again given full charge of keeping Eezham Tamils subordinated to Sinhala military domination.

In the meantime, on the genocidal blood of Tamils spilt by the USA and India, China is rewarding 'Sri Lanka' with a state-within-state built in Colombo. The one left out in the game is India.

The relatives of the victims slain in the targeted air-raid on school girls attending a self-protection workshop at Vallipunam in Mullaiththeevu commemorated their kith and kin together with education sector officials and Tamil politicians in a memorial event held near Jaffna Public Library on Sunday. No investigations have so far covered the underlying patterns of the planning, preparation and execution of the massacre, which was carried out with high-level decision-making involving the SL commanders of the three armed forces, SL Defence Secretary and the Commander-in-Chief (SL President Mahinda Rajapaksa) at that time. The targeted massacre was carried out two years before the Government of Sri Lanka withdrew from the Ceasefire Agreement with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.
