Tamils denied justice in Sri Lanka - JVP

"We accept that Tamils face problems in Sri Lanka. Tamils have received unequal treatment from successive Sri Lankan Governments. They have been denied social justice. Due to these injustices Tamils are undergoing immense hardships now," said Tilvin de Silva, the General Secretary of Janatha Vimukti Peramuna (JVP), while addressing the foreign correspondents at the Galle Face Green Hotel yesterday.

Amnesty welcomes disappearances convictions

Landslide victory for ruling party

PA supporters attack JVP meeting

Eleven members and sympathisers of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) were injured when a large group of PA supporters and thugs attacked the party's meeting this afternoon at Pannala, about sixty five kilometers northwest of Colombo. The wounded have been admitted to the Kurunagala hospital.

Arrest warrant for MP issued

A decade of agony for families of the Disappeared

Judge demands to see detainees

SLA deserters provoke alert

JVP seeks Tamil support

The General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna told the Sinhala press today that his 'party' was going to hold propaganda meetings in the main towns of the northeast to muster Tamil support for the group's campaign against the devolution package proposed by the PA regime. The JVP is a militant left wing Sinhala revolutionary group that led two bloody insurrections to capture state power.
