SLA expels resettled Kanchirankudah families

TRO's third divisional office opened in Trinco district

TRO hands over ten houses to Thiriyai resettlers

SLA said baulking shortest route to Jaffna

SLA stops Valalai temple repair

The Sri Lanka army Sunday stopped repairs to the Kaali Temple in Valalai, a village in the Valigamam division of Jaffna, residents said. Last week the SLA ordered several families in this resettled village to dismantle their homes that they had rebuilt as permanent structures. The Sri Lankan military, however, insists the village is part of its security environs, although it lies outside the bounds of its Palaly-Kakesanthurai base, which encompasses most of the Valigamam North Division.

SLA threatens to demolish refugee’s home

The Sri Lanka army Tuesday threatened to demolish the home of a family that had resettled in Valalai in the Valigamam Division of Jaffna, residents of the village said. On Monday the SLA ordered families in Valalai that had built brick houses to dismantle their homes immediately. Soldiers warned the family that refused to comply with the SLA’s order that its home would be demolished by Wednesday, residents said.

Nagarkovil IDPs oppose relocation, demand resettlement
