University engineers not learning lessons

[TamilNet, Thursday, 21 July 2016, 01:26 GMT]
The origins of Eezham Tamil militant struggle are often attributed to the university admissions policy of Srimao Bandaranayake regime in the early 1970s. The attribution actually belittles the magnitude of the age-old genocidal tendency of the agent-State in the island. But, even this underrated lesson has not been learnt by current university engineers in genocidal Colombo and their masters outside, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island, citing the post-2009 manoeuvrings carried out in the universities and campuses in Jaffna, Batticaloa and Trincomalee in the country of Eezham Tamils.

0Tension prevailed at Pa'l'li-munai, a coastal village of Eezham Tamils located within the urban limits of Mannaar city Wednesday morning around 10:00 a.m., when the occupying Sinhala Navy was using the SL Survey Department officials to measure lands for permanent military seizure while a case against the SL Navy is still pending at the District Court of Mannaar. [TamilNet, Monday, 18 July 2016, 18:01 GMT]
Vinthan KanagaratnamLatest photographs from Nayinaa-theevu islet off Jaffna reveal that the occupying Navy of genocidal Sri Lanka being deployed in the construction of controversial 67-feet Buddha statue disregarding the sentiments of the gagged Eezham Tamil population in the islet under military occupation. “Eezham Tamils have clearly articulated their objection to the controversial move. If the new regime, which has came to power using Tamils‘ votes, didn’t want to respect the sentiments of Eezham Tamils, and if the SL President has sanctioned this illegitimate project, he has just invoked an act of aggression, not only against the Eezham Tamils, but also against the 70-million Tamils of Tamil Nadu,” NPC Councillor Vinthan Kanagaratnam told TamilNet on Monday. The public in Jaffna will raise against this move, he said.

Encouraged by US appeasement, SL military strengthens genocidal grip on North

[TamilNet, Friday, 15 July 2016, 23:51 GMT]
0The occupying Sinhala military of genocidal Sri Lanka has put up new fences to consolidate the military-seized lands of Eezham Tamils in Valikaamam North in Jaffna within the last three days while the visiting US State Secretary for South Asia Ms Nisha Biswal was trading off international justice and human rights with ‘security’ and maritime military-to-military cooperation with the unitary ‘Sri Lanka’ during her visit to Colombo this week. The SL military consolidation in the lands seized from Eezham Tamils in Valikaamam North reminds Tamils how Israel fenced off Palestinian territories in the Middle East, commented Tamil rights activists in North. The latest move, accompanied with tricky deceptions, have dashed all hopes for proper resettlement in the villages of uprooted Eezham Tamils, said Subramaniyam Nagendraseelan, the secretary of Valikaamam North Rehabilitation Society.

Colombo demonstrates military diktats over resettlement in Jaffna after Geneva ‘update’

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 12 July 2016, 13:10 GMT]
The commander of the occupying military of genocidal Sri Lanka in Jaffna has re-iterated the military diktat on Monday by going on record that there was no reduction in the camps or number of military troops in Jaffna. Claiming that there would be no such consideration of reducing the troops in 10 years in the future, Major General Mahesh Senanayake was also demonstrating that any resettlement of uprooted Eezham Tamils in the former ‘High Security Zone’ in Valikaamam North could only take place at the mercy of the Sinhala military. A few uprooted Tamil women and the Additional Government Agent of Jaffna were asked to be present in the ‘inauguration’ ceremony of the military-conceived, SL government-funded housing scheme for 100 families at a limestone quarry land near Maavidda-puram. The quarry lands belong to KKS Cement factory.

[TamilNet, Monday, 11 July 2016, 23:03 GMT]
0Tension prevailed at Chaampal-theevu junction, situated 7 km north of Trincomalee city, as Sinhala goons assaulted Eezham Tamil travellers on the coastal road after putting up a Buddha statue where a Hindu Pillayar statue was situated for decades. SL Police was giving protection to the goons who were led by a Buddhist monk. The violent episode took place Monday morning after the villagers had removed a Buddha statue planted by someone a few days ago at the locality after removing Pillayar statue, news sources in Trincomalee said. The villagers had also removed a Bodhi tree that had been planted by the occupying Sinhala navy at the locality. [TamilNet, Sunday, 10 July 2016, 23:14 GMT]
On 15th of June, Indonesian authorities apprehended 44 Eezham Tamils en route to Australia in a fishing trawler in the eastern province of Aceh. Indonesian officials prohibited the refugees from disembarking upon Indonesian soil stating that they were not eligible for asylum. During one incident, as five Tamil women attempted to disembark, Indonesian authorities were reported to have fired gunshots in the air. Pictures emerged, with one of the Eelam Tamil women in tears mimicking with her hand a gun pointed to her head. The silence from the International Community of Establishment (ICE) was ‘demonstrated’ when Colombo’s officials through a UN body visited Indonesia in order to negotiate the return of the refugees back to Colombo’s military rule, from which they were fleeing.

SL Police, DS, Forest Department continue to block Champoor Tamils from regaining agricultural lands

[TamilNet, Saturday, 09 July 2016, 23:26 GMT]
The occupying Colombo has instructed the Divisional Secretary of Moothoor and the Officer in Charge of Police at Champoor to collaborate with the SL Department of Forest Conservation in blocking the uprooted Champoor Tamils from entering Kokkaddi, a coastal village with fertile upper lands suitable for agriculture and farming in Moothoor East, informed civil officials in Trincomalee said. The area of Kokkaddi, also known as Vaddavan, has been an agricultural area where Eezham Tamils were engaged for decades in fishing, agriculture and animal farming. The structural genocide against Eezham Tamils will not stop until Eezham Tamils regain their sovereign rights over their land and sea, Tamil civil officials in Trincomalee commented.

Amaithipuram exposes disparity in ‘development’ motives of Colombo, external powers

[TamilNet, Friday, 08 July 2016, 15:37 GMT]
The entire village of Amaithi-puram (peace-town), created in 2012 as a settlement for war-affected, women-headed and uprooted families from Periya-pa’ndi-virichchaan in Mannaar district during the regime of Rajapaksa, is still languishing without proper livelihood support. 250 Eezham Tamils belonging to 47 families are struggling without access to potable water and they lack much-needed road infrastructure. In contrast, Sinhala colonization settlements being created in the occupied country of Eezham Tamils by the genocidal unitary State in South are fully utilized with sustainable and modern solutions in all areas, be it housing, livelihood, education arrangements and state-of-the art road infrastructure. But, in Amaithi-puram, like in several other villages of ‘resettled’ Tamils, even the houses built under the Indian housing assistance have become rotten to the core within 5 years.

[TamilNet, Thursday, 07 July 2016, 23:51 GMT]

The monks have put up their huts besides an abandoned Buddha statue, which was erected inside a former military base. In 2013, the SL military relocated the base. But, in 2016, the intruding monks demand to transform the locality into a Sinhala Buddhist temple. Kaayang-kea’ni is located in Koa’ra’laip-pattu North (Vaakarai) Division in Batticaloa district.

Colombo’s ministries continue to deploy genocidal policies in employment

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 06 July 2016, 14:31 GMT]
Among 130 appointments to non-medical support staff positions recently made to the Teaching Hospital in Batticaloa, which is a predominantly Tamil-speaking district, 127 were Sinhalese, 2 Muslims and only 1 person was Tamil, medical sources at the hospital told TamilNet blaming Colombo’s Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine and its minister Rajitha Senaratne for deploying high level of discrimination in employment in the health sector. Former SL President Mahinda Rajpakasa named the 2009 genocidal onslaught as ‘Humanitarian Operation’. After the end of war, Colombo brought genocidal military rule to carry out the structural genocide. As far as the Eezham Tamils are concerned, the current regime has brought ‘Genocidal Governance’ through the so-called label of ‘Good Governance’, commented a Tamil doctor at Batticaloa Teaching hospital.

Gaining more ‘time and space’ at Geneva, Colombo steps up genocidal grip on Eezham Tamils in Vanni

[TamilNet, Monday, 04 July 2016, 22:40 GMT]
The so-called Civil Security Department (CSD), which comes under the purview of the Ministry of Defence of genocidal Sri Lanka, is trying to seize 500 acres of additional farmlands at several locations of Mullaiththeevu district through ‘legal’ means, civil sources in Vanni said. While the genocidal-paradigm is upheld by the powers through a passive discourse at Geneva, the CSD under Maithiripala Sirisena is absorbing more farmlands through Sinhala military corporatism. The enslaved Eezham Tamils are to be deployed as slaves and more Tamil children are going to be subjected to brainwashing by the SL military. In the meantime, the income generated from the military-run farms is being channelled to employ a Sinhala-only armed paramilitary, known as Civil Defence Force (CDF) to colonize strategic Tamil lands along the coast and the interior borders of the occupied country of Eezham Tamils.
